1) What is biodiesel?
Biodiesel is a renewable fuel designed to work in standard diesel (ULSD) engines. Consisting of long-chain fatty acid alkyl esters, and made from renewable vegetable oils, recycled cooking oils, or animal fats.
2) Why should I consider biodiesel?
Biodiesel is a renewable, biodegradable, cleaner burning alternative to petroleum fuels. It also has a higher cetane rating, which can promote easier cold starting and lower idle noise.
3) Will I have to modify my engine to use biodiesel?
If your engine runs on diesel, it will run on biodiesel without modifications. Contact us and we will help you find the right blend for you to keep your engine protected.
4) Will biodiesel damage the mechanical parts of my engine?
No. In fact, biodiesel can be good for your engine for two reasons. First, biodiesel has more lubricating properties than petroleum diesel, which keeps your engine running smooth and protected. Second, biodiesel helps clean the fuel system. Since it is a good solvent, biodiesel can remove deposits and buildup from tanks, lines, pumps, and other fuel system components.
5) Will biodiesel cause fuel filter problems?
No. Petroleum diesel has a tendency to leave paraffin-based buildup inside fuel systems. Biodiesel will clean your engine, releasing these buildups and protecting your engine. You may need to replace your fuel filter soon after transitioning to biodiesel, but remember, this is purely because of the buildup caused by the previous usage of petroleum diesel that is now being cleaned away.
6) Does biodiesel work in cold weather?
